Goal Setting Tips
Imagine for a moment you’re watching a football game (or any sport for that matter) on television. Now imagine for a moment that the “Goals” of the game are taken away from the sport. In football you score points when you cross the “Goal line” to make a touchdown and when you kick the ball through the uprights for a “Field Goal.” Can you imagine a stadium of confused (and upset) fans, players and coaches?
Ultimately, what’s the point of playing the game if you have no goals right? Nobody is going to watch a bunch of grown men running around in tight pants and hitting people without their being a point to the matter. We as fans want to see victory and/or achievement. We want to see our teams overcome the odds and score more goals then the other team.
Goals are as important to the game of life as touchdowns and field goals are to the game of football. As humans we all have an innate sense of achievement deep inside our minds and goals help us direct our efforts. They’re also used to show us progress towards our ultimate long-term goals otherwise known as dreams.
As part of the Life Planning process we provide sample goals to the dreams listed in the dream library to show you how they work within an Action Plan to achieve the big dreams you set for yourself. Begin creating your own specific goals today and begin to see progress in realizing your dreams!
