"Getting to Know" Dan Miller
What is your name and title? Dan Miller – Creative Thinker
What does your company do? 48 Days LLC – we provide inspirational and instructional materials for business and personal excellence.
Tell us a little about your background: I grew up a poor farm kid. Got a copy of Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret at age 13 – it opened my eyes and belief that even a poor farm kid could do more, see more and have more. My academic degrees are in psychology, but the application has always been coaching rather than counseling.
What are 2 or 3 notable achievements you’d like to share? Doing a 6-hr audio program with Nightingale Conant (48 Days to a Six-Figure Income) – feels like I’ve come full circle from that initial impact of their first product.
Speaking at the White House Christian Fellowship.
How I got to where I am today? A continuous learner. I read and listen to positive materials at least 2 hours each day. And attend seminars, workshops and teleseminars frequently. I’ve had many “mentors” through the means of tapes, seminars, CDs and personal contact.
Why I do what I do: I love having the opportunity to help others find their purpose and then apply that directly to meaningful, purposeful and profitable daily work.
Best books I’ve read lately: The Go-Giver -- Bob Burg & John Mann Banker to the Poor – Muhammad Yunus Amish Grace – Donald Kraybill Good to Great and the Social Sectors – Jim Collins The Likeability Factor – Tim Sanders The Gift of Change – Marianne Williamson Thou Shall Prosper – Rabbi Daniel Lapin Unspeakable – Os Guiness Small is the New Big – Seth Godinpeed of Trust (Covey)
My Mentor/Coach: Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, Earl Nightingale, Denis Waitley, Mark Victor Hansen
Words to live by or favorite quote: The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet. Frederick Buechner
What I do in my free time/hobbies: Old cars, landscaping on our little country farm, and more reading.
